Looking over the edge of one cliff then stepping back slowly

I find that “stability” in life is itself unstable. That is, life’s stable in the same sense that rocket fuel is stable–until it explodes.
So this morning I awoke in my pool of rocket fuel and all of its stability and by noon I had emptied my bank account and explored some gray and foggy corners of my consciousness. Do you wake on the fateful last day of your free life and declare: today, I’m done!
Today, I walked up to the edge of the cliff, fuel filled rocket boosters strapped on. Then I stepped back slowly and put the match back in my pocket. Maybe later…
